A new addition in 20XX is armor drops, where picking them up will give you armor points. Pickups are similar to the health and energy drops you get in the original series. The slot machine will net you even more Nuts, health, energy, Augments or even Core Augments. These give you the option of playing a slot machine that appears in between levels sometimes. Tokens are a secondary currency that are rarer than nuts. All your nuts will be forfeited if you end your run. Nuts are used in all your runs to purchase Augments that you have unlocked. Going above level 20+ should net you at least 200 Soul Chips.

Once you gain enough traction through sufficient upgrades (and ideally with a full set of Dracopent Core Augments), you can blow through levels very quickly. The difficulty modifier Endless Mode is a great way to farm Soul Chips. I recommend only buying these if you have any leftover Soul Chips after purchasing the unlocks, or the unlocks do not fit your playstyle.Ī typical full-run should net you 40-50 Soul Chips, depending on your luck. Otherwise, Soul Chips can also be used to purchase Augments that you have already unlocked for a (usually) lower price, which lasts for the entirety of your next run. This usually costs upwards of 10 Soul Chips. You will also be gifted the Augment once, which lasts for the entirety of your next run. Soul Chips will unlock additional Augments for you to discover through your future runs. All other currencies will be forfeited if you end your run (whether through death or otherwise). These are the only currencies that can be brought out to The Ark for spending. When defeated, these enemies drop Soul Chips. 20XX has an unlock system, where each run you will find special enemies that are tinted black and blue (as opposed to their original colours).
